Creation

Create a credit note from a customer return.

The credit note is generated directly from a customer return associated with an already invoiced sale.

  • Creation from customer return
  • Required date
  • Optional notes
  • Automatic reference
  • Return, invoice and delivery note inherited automatically
  • Customer inherited automatically
Requirements

Meet the creation requirements.

SUIGEST360 validates several conditions before a credit note can be created.

  • The return must be linked to an invoice
  • The return must contain at least one product
  • Only one credit note may exist for the same return
  • An existing credit note blocks duplicate creation
Locked lines

Credit note product lines cannot be edited.

All product lines are copied directly from the customer return and intentionally locked.

  • Product inherited from return
  • Quantity inherited from return
  • Unit price inherited from return
  • Tax inherited from return
  • Subtotal inherited from return
  • Total inherited from return
Users cannot freely modify these lines, preserving consistency between the Customer Return and Customer Credit Note.
Amounts

Use the financial values from the return.

The credit note amount is built from the values actually recorded on the customer return.

  • Subtotal excluding tax
  • Return discount
  • Taxable base
  • Product taxes
  • Total credit note amount
Financial application

Automatically apply the credit to the invoice.

SUIGEST360 calculates the invoice balance before the credit and automatically applies the usable amount.

  • Invoice net amount
  • Payments already received
  • Other credits already applied
  • Remaining balance before new credit
  • Credit applied to invoice
  • New invoice balance
The amount applied can never exceed the remaining invoice balance.
Customer credit

Keep any excess as available credit.

If the credit note exceeds the remaining invoice balance, the unused portion becomes available customer credit.

  • Automatic excess calculation
  • Available credit stored on the credit note
  • Separate used and available amounts
  • Clear display on the details page and list
Example: if the invoice balance is 20,000 and the credit note is 30,000, 20,000 is applied and 10,000 remains available.
Statuses

Track credit usage.

The status represents the current financial position of the credit.

  • Available
  • Partially used
  • Used
  • Refunded
  • Cancelled
Invoice

Automatically update the invoice.

Applying a credit note changes the invoice remaining amount and its payment status.

  • Remaining amount reduced
  • Existing payments considered
  • Other credit notes considered
  • Unpaid when no financial operation exists
  • Partial when a payment or credit has been applied
  • Paid when the remaining balance reaches zero
Inventory

Credit notes do not modify inventory.

Inventory was already restored when the Customer Return was created.

  • No stock added
  • No stock removed
  • No stock movement created
  • Customer Return remains the physical inventory reference
Customer Return = inventory. Customer Credit Note = financial adjustment.
